WELCOME TO HEPAC/NVEPAC!
 
WHAT IS HEPAC/NVEPAC?
 
1)  A Special Education Parent Advisory Committee ("SEPAC") facilitating parent discussion and providing input to the District on issues concerning children receiving special education and related services.
 
2) A Parent Support Group providing support and information for ALL parents (general and special ed parents), recognizing that many students have learning differences, whether they receive special education services or not.

What ARE HEPAC/NVEPAC's GOALS?
 
As a SEPAC, our goal is to:

1)  Provide a network for parents of special education children to share information and resources.
2)  Support parents as they advocate for special education needs.
3)  Provide input to the District on issues concerning students with disabilities or learning differences.
4)  Collaborate with the District to facilitate bridging the gap between general and special education.
 
As a Parent Suppport Group, our goal is to:
 
1)  Provide ALL parents with information, resources and opportunities for discussion to promote student success.
2)  Provide a forum for ALL parents to share experiences and resources.
3)  Raise awareness about common learning issues.
4)  Support ALL students whether they receive special education services or not.


WH0 SHOULD JOIN HEPAC/NVEPAC?

ALL are welcome. HEPAC is for any parent or caregiver who has an educational question, concern or experience to share. HEPAC is for anyone in the community who wants to share information or resources which promote student success.
